8 and 9 April 2010 in St. Petersburg will host the annual conference of Sun Tech Days, which is from Sun Microsystems holds around the world for over 10 years.
This event will be the fifth in a row on the territory of Russia. The Conference is aimed at software developers, system administrators, students, academics and technical specialists. Conference of the Sun Tech Days 2009 in St. Petersburg attracted over 3500 visitors from Russia, CNG and other foreign countries.
Conference Program 2010 contains over 40 papers focusing on different levels of training students. Basic content of the conference – is the technical reports, master classes for professionals, demonstrations and discussions on the stands of technology developers, Sun Microsystems and sponsors of the conference.
The conference will be presentations on new products, technologies and updated releases of software from Sun Microsystems in the sections of Enterprise Computing (Java EE 6, GlassFish, database); Client Technologies (JavaFX, JDK7, Java ME, virtualization, DTrace); Solaris and OpenSolaris ( Web technologies, system administration, Source Juicer). Individual attention will be paid to the DBMS. Speakers include Sun Tech Days – developers of technologies, the heads of the leading directions of Sun Microsystems.
Big success for Russia’s development community will create as the key speaker on the first day of the conference, James Gosling – the author and a leading architect of the programming language Java. Prior to Java Gosling engaged in the development of satellite data reception, a multiprocessor version of Unix, compilers, and he is the author of WYSIWYG text editors, and Emacs. The Sun, James Gosling came in 1984 and originally engaged in the development of window GUI NeWS. The first release of Java was held in 1995, Gosling has developed the architecture of language, as well as the implementation of the original compiler and virtual machine, took part in the development of the specification language Java.
The second day will keynoting, Oracle. In the area of bench conference, participants will be able to meet and discuss the technical aspects and prospects of development of technologies with the Oracle Corporation. Technical Report Series by Oracle in the main part of the conference program will bring together a large number of listeners.
A traditional part of the program will be master classes. This year they will be held on the Java Persistence API and JavaFX technologies and DTrace.
His spirit and openness, advanced technologies Sun Tech Days has always attracted students and young developers from all over Russia and countries near and far abroad. In 2010, for young developers Sun Microsystems holds a competition for travel grants to the conference. Grant applications are accepted until March 15, 2010. To participate in the contest invited developers, students, teachers, representatives of the Java User Groups and OSUM. Competition winners will be fully or partially offset by transportation costs, as they will have an opportunity to present their own project in the exhibition area of the conference.
